Antonija Zaradija Kiš, PhD

Born on the 6th of February 1955 in Ivanac (Croatia). She started primary school in Sarajevo, which she continued in Makarska and where she also completed her high school. She attended the University of Paris, Sorbonne – Paris IV, where she read Slavic Studies, and graduated in 1990, defending her Masters dissertation entitled Trois récits en vieux-slave, traduction – notes – commentaires. Since 1983, she has been working at the Old Church Slavonic Institute in Zagreb, where she is doing research on Croatian paleographic topics. She defended her Doctoral thesis at the Department of Philology (Faculty of Philosophy, Zagreb) in 1992, entitled Knjiga o Jobu u hrvatskoglagoljskoj knjizevnosti (The Book of Job in Croatian Glagolitic Literature) . Since 2000 she has been working at the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Research as a senior research associate in the project Issues of Oral and Folk Poetics.

She has taken part in more than thirty scientific and professional Medieval and Slavicist symposiums in Croatia and abroad (Italy, France, England, Germany, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Poland, Lithuania), and has written a large number of critical reviews in the magazines Slovo, Croatica, Narodna umjetnost, Vijenac, Zarez, Jet Set and Kolo.

In the Department of Croatian Studies at the University of Zagreb, she teaches the course Jezik i knjizevnost hrvatskoga srednjovjekovlja (Literature and Language in the Croatian Middle Ages), and she is also involved in the teaching at the Faculty of Education at the University of Maribor. She often contributes in Buzet day, and sometimes holds public lectures for the Society of friends of the Glagolitic script, at the Glagolitic script little academy (Mala glagoljaska akademija) in Roc. She is also involved in the organisation of exhibitions that focus on Croatian Glagolism.
