The associates of the Institute are the carriers of the numerous independently shaped, innovative and scientifically supported courses. Participation in lecturing also assumes the organizing of the lecturing at the undergraduate and graduate studies. A long-term cooperation has been established with the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, where the employees of the Institute were responsible for the design and implementation of the doctoral program from its inception. That cooperation is being rounded out with the presentation of a mandatory folklore course and a unique folklore module at the undergraduate level of study where the lecturers are the employees of the Institute. The long-lasting cooperation in teaching is carried out with the Academy of Music of the University of Zagreb. The Institute has been, since its beginning, the fundamental educational institution of the Croatian musicoethnologists, and the musicoethnologists from the Institute are the only lecturers of ethnomusicological courses at the University of Zagreb. The result of the cooperation of many years with the Croatian Studies of the University of Zagreb is the proposal of the all-encompassing program of study of cultural anthropology, which has not been carried out because of infrastructure and financial obstacles. There is an ongoing cooperation through teaching at the Academy of Dramatic Art and the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Zagreb, at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Zadar, Department of Acting and Puppetry course at the Academy of Arts Osijek of the University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek, at the Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Rijeka and at the Department of Art and Restoration of the University of Dubrovnik.
With program, courses and mentorships, the international cooperation of many years is continuing at the study of ethnomusicology at the Academy of Music in Sarajevo (Bosna and Herzegovina), with the ISH – Ljubljana Graduate School of the Humanities, the Graduate School of the University of Nova Gorica and the Faculty of Arts of the University of Maribor (Slovenia). Cooperation has been established with the School of Arts, Roehampton University, London (Great Britain), with Istituto Universitario Suor Orsola Benincasa of University of Naples and with the University of Udine (Italy) with which, helped by the Center for Women’s Studies (Zagreb), organized the specialist feminist graduate study at the Inter University Centre Dubrovnik.
